La Cueva Azul-Art of Freedom Cultural Center has the pleasure to present for the first time in Miami, and third world premier, the film Interactivo The Movie, from Tané Martínez, Cuban filmmaker currently living in New York.
The movie is about the launching process of Cubanos por el Mundo CD from Interactivo, leading Cuban band directed by renown musician Roberto Carcassés. Interactivo is reshaping the Cuban Alternative Music Scene in the last 20 years. The band is a collective in which prominent Cuban musicians-with their own successful professional careers- have participated, such as: Yusa, Haydee Milanés, Wiliam Vivanco, Telmary Diaz, Francis del Río, Helmer Ferrer, Oliver Valdés y Julito Padrón, among others.
In an interview to Cubaencuentro online magazine, in order to announce the film’s world premier in New York last April, Tané Martinez said that the film talks about migration, freedom and, in particular Cuban music, and also about how Interactivo represents in her opinion the voice of a new generation that is looking for their own place.
In addition, Tané Martínez (Havana, 1981) has made three short films so far: Paquete Familiar, Malos días mi Amor & Tengo lo que tenía que tener. She graduated from Acting at the National School of Arts in Cuba (ENA). Later she studied Film Direction at the Center for Cinematographic Education in Mexico (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica de México). As a New York resident, Tané works as Editor/Partner at Colorbox Productions. Interactivo The movie is her first feature film.
